Podcast Ping 32 - Circus Is In Town

This episode has a circus theme. I found some audio problems with the last intro (more noticeable with headphones) so I re-recorded it, but it's much like the last.

Since I've had to reduce file size it's recorded with a bit rate of 96 rather than 128. This might make the sound a little duller but I needed to keep the file under 10M for the free hosting account (one of the largest for any free account). Another option would be to remove one of the songs, though I've already shortened it up as it is. I'll experiment with other settings so see what works. I won't need to reduce the resolution for Beowulf since those files are small enough anyways, although since it's all talk it won't make that big a difference.

Beowulf 6

Here is part 6 of Beowulf. You'll notice I've changed the intro and outro to add the music I've been using in the ad.

I've been having a little trouble with Archive.org lately; they did some "upgrades" about a month ago and it's been troublesome since. I'm now trying out the free service of MediaMax, but they have file size limits so I've had to reduce the audio quality for Podcast Ping from 128 to 96. Hopefully there shouldn't be a noticeable difference.

Podcast Ping 31 - In With The New

The new format of the show is starting today. About the only real difference is the shorter length and I won't always have a theme. I'm focusing more on folk music this year as well.

I may be using Tuesday's spot for Beowulf instead of a regular show since I really want to get through it early enough so that those studying it this year can use it. I has appeared to be more popular than regular episodes so far, with the Mininova posting of the Prelude having been downloaded more than 4,000 times so far.

The next episode of Beowulf will be Thursday. I'm trying to record as much as I can beforehand so I can get it out faster. I already have up to 8 finished and 12 in unedited recordings.
