Podcast Ping 1-10 Special

This is a collection of the poems from episodes 1 to 10, excluding those re-used for episode 41. I've been meaning to do this for a while and remembered while working on episode 50.

This is just poetry alone. No music. The poems have been re-recorded. Most of the rest of the stuff from the earliest episodes were just me talking or some of my guitar playing. It was at episode 11 that I started on the current format with the podsafe music, so doing a full rebuild of the first ten episodes wasn't worthwhile. And I have been meaning to do an all-poetry episode for a long time.

I called it a "special" instead of a "bonus" episode because bonus implies additional material. And it's not a proper "rebuild" because I'm only using select parts of some of the podcasts.

This is just part of the wrap-up process for the season. I've decided that episode 50 will be the season finale and after 50 I won't be touching any of the old material except for publication. So no more rebuilds or best-ofs, just all new material. Of course that may wait a while until I've finished THE UNSTOPPABLE RIDE. (The first chapter of which will be about the only thing carried over into season 2.)

It's getting a little hard to keep track of which rebuilds I've released, but I've only got a couple left. Just the rebuild of 23, which I'll get out this week and the rebuild of Bonus 9, which I'll release in December. And of course I've got the new episode 49 coming out soon, likely this week as well. I don't plan on doing any more rebuilds after Bonus 9; they were mostly done because I wanted to torrent them and felt it was worth the work since it would improve the quality.

Podcast Ping Bonus 10 - Waking The Dead

I wasn't planning to do another Halloween one this year but I ran across a couple things from the Internet Archive I had which I had thought of using for a Halloween episode and wound up not using them on episode 48 so I thought I'd throw together a bonus episode. I made it a bonus episode because I want 50 to be special and I've already got 49 put together.

Considering the age of the recordings, which I tried to clean up as much as possible, all the musical performers are likely dead now, hence the title. The noisiest recording is the first: the other two aren't bad.

This will likely be the last episode for the month. I've just got three more rebuilds to go, one which is for Christmas and will come out in December. So things will slow down. Episode 50 may come out just before New Years as episode 30 did. As for episodes in the new year, I haven't decided on that yet. I'm planning to just concentrate on THE UNSTOPPABLE RIDE.

If I can find the time I'd like to get another bonus episode put together for Halloween, which I'll get out tomorrow or Friday. I came across a couple of things on Internet Archive and I've got a couple poems I can use.

The only other bonus episode rebuild will be for bonus 9, which is a Christmas theme.
Aside from that I have three more rebuilds which I hope to get out before the end of next week, if not this week. Episode 49 will be out after that, and I might get a bonus Halloween episode in as well. I've already started selecting material for 50, which I plan to release in December. After that I may just stick with THE UNSTOPPABLE RIDE until it's finished.

The Unstoppable Ride - Chapter 1 Version 2

Although it's been a while, I'm now back to presenting THE UNSTOPPABLE RIDE. It's a story of a detective trapped in an amusement park.

This is the second version of the first episode and there are some noticeable changes, particularly to the beginning. I will probably get a few episodes out before Christmas but I would like to present them weekly, or at least bi-weekly, in the new year.

As such, I may hold off on doing any regular Podcast Ping episodes after 50 until the series is finished. It depends upon how much time I have. I've also got a few rebuilds that I'll finish before the end of the year. I've been doing rebuilds because I've been uploading old episodes to Mininova and felt that many of the old episodes were of such poor quality it was worth redoing. But there's only about four or five of those.

Podcast Ping 48-Undead Love

Here's this year's brand new Halloween episode. All the songs deal with monsters of one sort or another and love. It's a good one to play at a Halloween party or just share with friends and fiends.

I've got a new version of Chapter 1 of THE UNSTOPPABLE RIDE done which I'll probably release Sunday (Oct 26). I've also a few more rebuilds to get out, most in the next couple weeks (if I get the time to work on them).

I'm looking at a couple more to possibly rebuild, but I want to move onto new material. I've recorded the first chapter of THE UNSTOPPABLE RIDE again, but I can't say when I'll get it up. Hopefully this week. I haven't decided whether to release it before or after Podcast Ping 48.

I'm going to rebuild a few more, although I haven't decided exactly how many yet. I don't want to take forever dealing with old shows. I have done a rebuild of Bonus 3-Ghosts which I'll release in the next couple days. I'm looking at a couple bonus episodes since they're small. I would also like to do a rebuild of Bonus 9, which for some reason came out in mono, but since that's a Christmas episode I won't be doing that until December. But for the most part, there isn't enough advantage in re-doing any more.

But enough with the old material. I have also done episode 48 and 49. 48 is this year's Halloween episode and will come out either this week or next. (Probably next weekend.) 49 is November's episode. I also recorded the second version of the first chapter of THE UNSTOPPABLE RIDE, but I don't like how it sounds and will probably re-do it. I would like to get that going soon.

Podcast Ping Bonus 1 was originally called Comedy Clips. For some reason it appeared to be mono so I rebuilt it in stereo. I also fixed a small mistake in the maxims.
